What is the difference between filtering and sorting?
Here is the difference between filter a panel and search for cards in panels:
Filtering will show emails or task cards in their original boards and lists. It is most relevant when you want to get a specific view from a specific dashboard. For example, you might want to filter a dashboard by only the cards assigned to you. This way, you can cut through the noise and focus on what you know is your responsibility.

Don't forget the predefined filters (assigned to me, sent, draft, unread, archived, and snoozed), accessible through the drop-down menu next to each board title in the left column.
Search, on the other hand, is better when it comes to finding specific cards. It will search for terms on different forums or even archived emails that are no longer on any forums. For example, if you want to find a previous conversation with a customer so you can give a more accurate answer in an ongoing conversation with them.
