Managing spam on Drag workspaces

Drag does not analyze emails to define what should be sent to spam. It only reflects Gmail's assessment of emails when it comes to spam.

This means that all emails that make it to users' inboxes or shared inboxes' original Gmail accounts will load on Drag workspaces. The emails that Gmail considers as spam and that, consequently, don't make it to inboxes, will not load on Drag workspaces.

What happens when a spam arrives

Spam emails are handled differently depending whether your workspace is a shared inbox or a Google Group.

In Shared inboxes

When an email considered as spam by Gmail is sent to the shared inbox Gmail account:

It will load in the Shared Inbox original Gmail account spam folder.
It will not load on the Drag shared inbox board.

In Google Groups

For Google Groups, Drag will follow the Gmail's spam assessment according to the board owner's Gmail account.

If Gmail considers that email as spam in the board owner's Gmail account:

It will load in the board owner's Gmail account spam folder.
It will not load on the Drag Google Groups board.

If Gmail considers that email as not spam in the board owner's Gmail account (even if the same email is considered as spam for other Google Groups users), it will load on the Drag Google Groups board normally.

Marking an email as spam

Any user (with required permission to do so) on a shared workspace can mark emails as spam.

In Shared inboxes

The email will be removed from the Shared Inbox board.
The email will be moved to the shared inbox' original Gmail account spam folder.
Future emails from that sender will also be treated as spam.

In Google Groups

The email will be removed from the Google Group board.
The email will be moved to the board owner's Gmail account spam folder.
Future emails from that sender will also be treated as spam.

Unmarking an email as spam

Emails can also be unmarked as spam, from the Shared Inbox original Gmail account or board owner's Gmail account, depending on the board type. When emails are unmarked as spam:

That specific email will need to be manually moved to the Shared Inbox or Google Group board.
Future emails from that sender will load on the Shared Inbox or Google Group board normally.

Prevent valid emails from going to Spam

According to this Google article, if Gmail automatically sends emails from people you know to Spam, you can:

Remove the email from Spam: After you remove the email, future emails from that sender won’t go to Spam.
Add the sender to your contacts: When you add the sender to Google Contacts, Gmail stops sending their messages to Spam.
Create a filter: For specific senders, you can create a filter to label their email as important or another option that you choose.
