Some emails are not loading on my Google Groups board

This article helps troubleshoot issues with specific emails not loading on Google Groups board.

We recommend the board owner to check the following possible causes and their respective solutions:

1. Emails are being sent to Google Group aliases

Check for Google Groups aliases:

Open the Google Workspace admin panel
Select Directory > Groups
Select the Google Group in question
Go to Group Information > Aliases

Note emails sent to Google Groups' aliases will not load on Drag boards automatically. This needs to be set up by the Google Group board owner.

Solution: The board owner needs to create an automation rule based on "new emails sent to = {{ alias_email_address }} then move to the Google Group board".

2. Emails are being considered as spam in the board owner's Gmail account

Check if the missing emails are on the board owner's spam folder. Note that emails marked as spam in the board owner's Gmail account will not load on Google Groups boards. Also note that Drag does not analyze emails to define what should be sent to spam. It only reflects Gmail's assessment of emails when it comes to spam. You can read more about how to handle spam in Drag workspaces here.

Solution: If those emails should not be considered as spam, the board owner needs to unmark them as spam. We also recommend creating a Gmail filter for emails from that specific sender to "Never send to spam", to prevent that emails from that sender will be missed again in the future.

3. Emails are loading in the Social, Promotions or Updates tab in the board owner's Gmail account

By default, Google Groups emails should always go to the Forums tab. Loading on another tab is an unexpected behavior (done by Gmail itself) but that occasionally can happen. Check if that's the case with the missing emails.

Solution: The board owner should create a Gmail filter for all emails sent to that Google Group to load on the Forums tab (which is the expected behavior). This would prevent the unexpected behavior of emails loading in other tabs to happen.
