Why does Drag request permissions to my account?
Drag needs certain permissions to your Gmail account in order to work properly. You will be asked to give us these permissions upon installation:
Note if you do not accept these permissions, you won't be able to install the extension in your account and thus be able to benefit from Drag's features.
Read below why Drag needs each of the required permissions.
These permissions enable you to perform the following actions on your emails within your Gmail interface:
Read emails which is required for syncing emails.
Compose and send access enables you to send emails and create auto-responders while using Drag.
Permanently delete permission allows you to delete emails while using the Drag interface. Drag never deletes emails directly. When users delete emails using Drag, those emails are moved to the user's Gmail account's bin folder, and are automatically deleted by Gmail after 30 days.
This setting allows Drag to view and update configurations such as email forwarding and setting up filters to manage incoming mail.
This is required, for example, for our reply as feature, with which users can reply to emails using the shared inbox email address or on behalf of other team members. This permission is also required to route incoming emails to the correct Shared Inbox or Google Group boards, ie. to make sure that emails will load into Drag shared boards instead of the users' individual inboxes.
Note that:
We fully disclose the users' information we collect, as well as how we use, protect and share them in our privacy policy, that can be accessed here.
We are audited yearly by a third party security company appointed by Google itself, that ensures that we are only able to request access to permissions that are strictly necessary for the operation of our product. We are happy to share our latest certificate of approval upon request. Just send us a request to support@dragapp.com.
You can also revoke Drag's access to your account at any time directly from your Google Workspace or Gmail account and can request permanent deletion of your data from our servers at any point by emailing us.
Still have questions? Our team will love to clarify them, just contact us at support@dragapp.com.
Note if you do not accept these permissions, you won't be able to install the extension in your account and thus be able to benefit from Drag's features.
Understanding the scope of permissions
Read below why Drag needs each of the required permissions.
1. Read, compose, send, and permanently delete all your emails from Gmail
2. See, edit, create, or change your email settings and filters in Gmail
