What is the difference between filtering and sorting?

Here is the difference between filtering a board and searching for cards on boards:
Filtering will show emails or task cards on their original boards and lists. It is more relevant when you want to get a specific view of a specific board. For example, you may want to filter a board by only cards assigned to you. This way, you can cut the noise and focus on what you know is your responsibility.
Don't forget about the predefined filters (assigned to me, sent, draft, unread, archived and snoozed), accessible via the dropdown menu next to each board title on your left column.
Searching, on the other hand, is better when it comes to finding specific cards. It will search for terms across different boards or even archived emails that are no long on any board. For example, if you want to find a previous conversation with a customer in order to be able to give a more accurate answer in an ongoing conversation with them.
