AI Drafts help you write clear, on-brand replies in seconds, directly from your inbox. You stay in control of what gets sent, while AI handles the heavy lifting.

This article explains what AI Drafts are, where you can use them, how to enable them, and how to choose the right setup for your workflow.

What are AI Drafts?

AI Drafts generate suggested email replies based on:

• The content of the email or thread you are replying to
• Your previous messages and writing style
• Optional instructions you provide, such as tone or intent

AI Drafts only suggest replies. Nothing is sent automatically. You always review, edit, and approve each message before sending.

Where you can use AI Drafts

AI Drafts can be used anywhere you normally reply to emails in Drag:

• Individual boards
• Shared boards
• Existing email threads

AI Drafts are most useful for emails that require a thoughtful or well-worded response, such as customer replies, follow-ups, or explanations.

How to enable AI Drafts

AI Drafts are enabled per board, so you can control exactly where drafts are generated.

1. Open your Drag board → Boards → Board settings.
2. Select the board where you want to use AI Drafts.
3. Toggle ✍️ Enable AI Draft to ON.
4. Choose a draft generation mode

Draft generation modes

There are two ways you can use AI Drafts in Drag:

Automatic mode 

Drag automatically generates draft replies for all incoming emails on that board, including new threads and incoming replies.

This mode works best for high-volume boards where most emails require a response. Drafts are still only suggestions and are never sent automatically.

Manual mode

Drag generates drafts only when you choose to, by applying the ✨ AI Draft tag to an email.

This mode is ideal for sensitive workflows or boards where you only want AI assistance occasionally.

If you are using Automatic mode, you can still manually trigger a draft at any time by applying the ✨ AI Draft tag.

Sending AI-generated emails

AI Drafts never send emails on your behalf.

Before sending:

• Review the full message
• Make any final edits
• Click Send when you are happy

You stay fully in control of the final output.

Can I manually trigger an AI Draft?

Yes. Just apply the tag ✨ AI Draft to any email. Drag will generate a draft within a few seconds.

Privacy and data handling

AI Drafts only process emails when actively generating a draft.

• In Manual mode, only emails tagged ✨ AI Draft are processed
• Emails are not continuously scanned
• Content is processed solely to generate the draft
• Data is not used to train public AI models

You can also disable AI Drafts at any time in your settings.

What AI Drafts Will Not Do

• Automatically send emails
• Apply tags or take actions without your approval
• Replace human judgment

AI Drafts are designed to assist, not automate decisions.
